The National Rifle Association Cancels Annual Meeting

With the restrictions in Houston and the heavy infection rate of COVID-19, the NRA chose to close their event to prevent it becoming a source of infection. Even if a spreader event were to not occur and infections remained low, an unlikely thing at this juncture, the event would draw extra criticism in a time where the push by the NRA against people like Chipman can benefit from all the holistic goodwill it can get from GenPop.

The NRA is required to hold an annual meeting for voting, however the large public show is usually a showcase of new products and services from large names.

Several companies had already withdrawn in order to protect their staff, but it was unknown if the NRA would hold the reduced attendance show to still comply with the voting mandate of the organization.

The NRA has chosen no.
